Clinical expertise

His clinical work focuses on the assessment and catheter-based treatment of complex congenital and structural heart disease in adults. Areas of practice include adult congenital heart disease, PFO and ASD assessment and closure, pulmonary valve implantation, coarctation and complex aortic interventions, pulmonary hypertension procedures and second opinions in complex cases.

The approach combines careful clinical assessment, advanced imaging and multidisciplinary planning. Where helpful, three-dimensional reconstruction and procedural simulation are used to support decision-making, patient communication and preparation for complex interventions.

Training and appointments

He trained in cardiology and internal medicine at the University Hospital of Münster, Germany, and at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London. He received his PhD in Cardiology from the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London.

Before joining the Royal Brompton Hospital as a Consultant Cardiologist, he worked as a Consultant Cardiologist at Barts Heart Centre between 2015 and 2016. In 2016–2017, he was Visiting Consultant Cardiologist at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
